After settling in on the West Coast with her husband, Alexa has set up a home studio to
further her body of work. Double exposure female figures as well as exploring new
ideas that she considers to be spirit-led are among them. She earned her BFA degree in
Studio Art from Millikin University in 2013.
"I consider myself primarily a figurative painter with an emphasis in acrylic on canvas and
drawing. Often using my own photography and design for reference, I assemble layers, drips,
and line work to translate the feel of a piece into a reality that makes sense to me.
As a sensitive type, I believe there is more to this life than what we see, and so my work is at
times both an appreciation and reflection of my experiences and environment."
