This business that I'm in... you know, making art? Well, it's strictly professional. That is to say...I'm a professional mess-maker. And I like it. For many years, I've been a bit hard on myself when it comes to keeping things tidy. I go from spurts of completely losing my mind in excitement as I walk down the stationary & organization aisles at Target, to just "throwing in the towel" and counting it as a lost cause. Letting it all pile up in the corner of my room...then literally throwing in a towel...then some clothes...and maybe some shoes too. Whatever looks best. Ha! But really. What's so wrong with being a little messy? This life isn't perfect, and I've learned to let things go and just embrace them for what they are. I think we try to hide characteristics either about ourselves or maybe some of our habits that we don't want others to see. We put this mask on...sometimes without even realizing it, because we have this idea of what "professional" looks like. I have to tell you, I have found the most joy in finding that some of my favorite artists, business-minded people, and even personal connections I've made have their own set of quirks. The quirks are the best part..they're what make us unique and awesome! So I wanted to post some pictures of my studio space (fairly clean but quirk friendly) now that my next Double Exposure series is in full swing and progressing! I have to say how much of a blessing that it's been to be low on inventory, but now I've gotta keep my butt in gear to keep cranking out the goods! I feel like I haven't posted enough lately, so I'm overloading on the pictures and being transparent about my work space. Life can be so serious, so don't be afraid to make a mess! Enjoy what you are doing and like yourself for doing it. Colossians 3:23 xoxo Alexa
