Tonight, as I watched the candle flicker with light, I couldn't help but take time to reflect and feel so thankful for this life. These days we're in such a hurry to get to where we're going and to see results fast, that we often miss all of the wonderful things nestled right before us. Whoever you are, thank you for reading this. No matter what you carry with you, always remember that you have a light to shine. This world would have us to believe that having value means good performance, looking and sounding a certain way, or perhaps even keeping ourselves tucked away in an envelope of sorts labeled with just one word... "safe." You have value, and you matter. Never forget that you are a flame. That flame burns a unique and radiant light...a light that knows no boundaries <3 1 Samuel 16:7xoxo Alexa

What I've learned through the process of making art is that you can put deadlines on a piece of work, but ultimately the work finishes itself! I told myself, these three paintings will be finished by Sunday...I'll set that goal for myself. But sometimes, you have to let things be done the right way and to evolve organically. So below are 3 paintings, as part of my double exposure series, that are close to completion, but not there just yet :)
Weebly's website was down on Monday, but that didn't get in the way of showing some detail shots of artwork as promised! In cased you missed them on Instagram or Facebook, check out the tab "PROGRESSION" at the top of this page to see photos. I will be reposting photos of these 3 complete & finished pieces this Sunday October 9th! xoxo AlexaThere will be 2 posts this week: Tomorrow I'm going to be publishing photos of the "kids", also what I like to call my in-progress-paintings. See the photos right here tomorrow to see what very well may be some of the final pieces of my double exposure series. For this evening, I have included below one of the photographs I took as reference for this group of work. I couldn't be more thrilled to soon show the rest of this series at State of the Arts Gallery. Goodnight everyone, until tomorrow! ...And of course, I can't end without a quote... xoxo Alexa |
