"All Things Possible"This week as I narrow in on some design ideas for a new project, I think back to the largest collaborative piece I've ever done with my mom. Titled "All Things Possible". One of the things that I love about this painting is that every viewer comes up with their own narrative when they see it!
I am definitely guilty of over planning composition/content ideas in my mind. So something new that I've started to fight back against stalling and conquer the fear is keeping an extra canvas on the side to work out my ideas. It forces me to "just do it" to see what happens. (Nike gets it!) The past pieces help prepare me for the new ones! It's good to reference them, but not to linger there too long. For all of the unseen struggles that came with such a large scale painting, something greater than I imagined came out of it. Remembering that keeps me moving forward and prevents me from getting stuck! Be encouraged this week in whatever you do, knowing that our best moments lie ahead of us! "What lies behind us and what lies before us are small matters compared to what lies within us. And when we bring what is within us out into the world, miracles happen." -Ralph Waldo Emerson xoxo Alexa
