Happy New Year

2016 we have arrived.

I am so excited for what this year has in store and very happy to begin a fresh start. My flamingo painting is complete! Standing at 40" tall and 16" wide, this piece is a combination of acrylic paint, pencil, and soft pastel. I love to use a neutral palette for the majority of a painting, then throw in some final areas of contrast and bright color to make the piece pop. The goal is to not over-do it and leave some mark making! The flamingo piece will be taken to State of the Arts Gallery this week! 

Stay with me this year. I believe there are some pretty big changes ahead in this year's forecast, and I cannot wait to share them with you as they unfold!  Until then, have a great first week of the New Year! Out with the old and in with the new :)
