The materials I use for a painting are a compilation of supplies I've collected over the years & new purchases: Bundles of pencils that originated from different homes, graciously gifted canvases, and the basic paint necessities any artist needs to lay foreground...

My go-to base color right now is World's Best Buff Titanium Gesso. A can of this little acrylic guy is expensive, but I haven't found quite the same color anywhere else! You can mix it with cooler colors for an opaque, subtle warm tint...OR it really is a great color all by itself. I love using it to brighten up highlighted areas on flesh tones and especially when blocking in a flat area of "sand" in my Beach Series.
